LATENESS AND MAKE-UP
The Real Estate Commission requires that you attend all 135 hours of instruction before you receive a completion
certificate. If you are late, or miss any classes, it will be necessary for you to make up the time. The time
may be made up for a fee of $99 per each module missed in subsequent classes or you may arrange to attend
special make-up sessions. The cost for special sessions are $90/hour, divided by the number of students in the
make-up class. For example, if there are five students in a three-hour make-up class, the cost to each will be
$270/5=$54. Student may also use the Exam Review class to make up the hours. The price of the review class is
$99.99. Please note you should make every effort to attend a regular broker class because exam review classes or
subsequent classes may be cancelled or delayed if a minimum of 6 students do not sign up.
GRADING
The program requires active participation in each session. If you miss a session, you must make it up. All
program work and hours must be completed before taking the final exam. There is one final proctored exam, and
you must pass with a grade of at least 75% to receive credit for the program. If you do not
pass the final exam, you will be allowed one proctored exam retake within one year from the date of initial
enrollment. If you do not pass the retake exam, you will not receive credit for the program. However, you will
have the opportunity to purchase a retake of the program at a reduced rate of $1300. You must start over and
complete all 135 hours again.
Distance Learning Institute Training (DLIT) will maintain your school records including permanent grades (your
exam scores) for as long as the school exists. Each student will have a permanent record which includes academic
achievement. Transcripts are available upon request.
REFUNDS
All tuition fees paid by a student shall be refunded if the student chooses not to enroll in or to withdraw from
the school within 7 calendar days after registration or before the first day of the Broker Class. Once class
begins a prorated refund shall be made based on the proportion of the program completed by the student. The
proportion of the program completed shall be the percentage of lessons completed by the student compared to the
total number of lessons in the program. Each Module has 15 total lessons. And the program has 45 hours of 3
lesson each. Please note there is a non-refundable registration fee of $75.
The date of termination is the student’s last day of actively working (attended) in the program. A refund due to
a student shall be based on the date of termination and will be paid within 4 weeks of the termination date.
-If the school closed or discontinues the program, the school shall refund to each currently enrolled student
monies paid by the student for tuition and monies for which the student is liable for tuition and fees.
GETTING YOUR LICENSE AFTER COMPLETION AND PASSING THE
STATE EXAMINATION
Applicants must submit an original Certificate of Licensure from the Maryland Real Estate Commission,
dated not more than 90 days prior to the date of the scheduled license examination. In addition, if you are
licensed in other jurisdictions, you must have a Certificate of License History from the real estate commissions
in those jurisdictions.
You must take the licensing examination within one year of completion of your pre-licensing program. Failure to
do so means you start the program all over and all the work you completed will not count.
